A FLORIDA PRISON
A prison in rural Florida instated a policy by which QR codes will be tattooed to the foreheads of all sex offenders--before release. In a memo to WCJB TV, the Mayor states: The QR Codes will function to do the following:
1) Allow citizens to immediately identify sex offenders.
2) Allow anyone with a phone to Immediately search the nature of the released prisoner's sexual crimes and assaults; and when permitted by the victims, biographical details of the crimes will accompany the brief video for which citizens will view.
Critics say there is already a policy to identify sexual criminals--citizens can search online. Opponents argue why ridicule people who have reportedly been rehabilitated?
The mayor's office responded with: how is the woman at the grocery store supposed to know if the the man who offers to carry one of her large grocery bags to her Honda Civic is a sexual criminal? She's not going to whip out her phone and do a search--even if she did this devil of a person could be patrolling women to rape in another community. This presence of a QR code on a person’s head will automatically register to anyone that this person has committed a sexual crime.
Released prisoners are required to visit a police station weekly, where an officer will verify that the QR code has not been tampered with.
